D’reesha Performing Arts Festival Day 6

D’reesha Performing Arts Festival 2021 is a pioneering festival that will integrate multiple disciplines, ranging from theatre and poetry to research, education, and, technology. It will explore the nature of performing arts and engage a new generation of innovative artists. A year-round performance lab that aims to engage and empower students will culminate in an annual festival that transforms Education City into an open stage.

In its inaugural year, D’reesha aims to act as a springboard: showcasing Qatar’s thriving creative community and inspiring artists at all stages of their development — celebrating heritage, identifying untapped talent, and sowing the seeds of creativity for years to come. In the long term, the unique multidisciplinary platform provided by Qatar Foundation will give the world a performance experience unlike any other.

The festival will take place from 12 to 17 December 2021 in Education City. In light of the COVID-19 pandemic, the festival will take place outdoors in open-air spaces with social distancing enforced. We will adhere to local guidelines as advised by the Ministry of Public Health.

BYT BY AMIRA RADHIAn artistic performance that explores the connection between the artist and their inner child. The inner child helps to recall the memories of when they built their first house from cushions.Venue: TIME MACHINEMUSIC OPEN MIC BY COCHINEAL PRODUCTIONSCochineal Productions will be hosting an Open Mic session, where anyone from the audience can join a live band on stage and sing.
