Ukrainian community in Qatar shows their solidarity

The Ukrainian community gathered at the Ukrainian embassy on 25 February 2022 to express their support and show solidarity with their country.

Ambassadors from the EU also attended this occasion.

On 24 February 2022, Russia launched an invasion of Ukraine, UN refugee agency said around 100,000 Ukrainians have fled their homes to neighboring countries. The EU threatened Russia with sanctions for the new Russian Decree.

H.H. the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani received a phone call from H.E. President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy on 24 February 2022 morning.

H.E. the Ukrainian President briefed H.H. the Amir on the latest developments in the Ukrainian arena. In this regard, His Highness called on all parties to exercise restraint and resolve the dispute through constructive dialogue and diplomatic methods, as well as the settlement of international disputes by peaceful means, and not to take any actions that would lead to further escalation.

H.E. Secretary-General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Dr. Ahmed bin Hassan Al Hammadi met with H.E. Ambassador of Ukraine to Qatar Andrey Kosmenko on 25 February 2022.

During the meeting, relations of bilateral cooperation between the two countries were reviewed.
