In a tweet by Qatar Civil Aviation Authority (QCAA), it was announced that QCAA has issued a circular to airlines on the need of informing passengers of the regulations related to the disclosure of cash and valuables.

The circular mentions that airlines that arrive in the State of Qatar need to inform all passengers onboard through inflight announcement (prior to arrival) of the regulations pertaining to the declaration of cash and valuables when entering or leaving the State of Qatar. This shall be done in accordance with the instructions of the General Authority of Customs in the State of Qatar.

Any person upon entering or leaving the State of Qatar who is in possession of any currency, bearer of negotiable instruments, precious metals, or stones equivalent to or exceeding QR 50,000 or its equivalent in foreign currencies, must fill out the declaration form and hand it over to the Customs Authorities. The QCAA notes that non or false declaration will lead to legal action by Qatari authorities. Declaration forms will be available upon arrival or departure in the immigration hall.
