Distance learning system in Qatar during pandemic

In view of the current conditions related to the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, after conducting the detailed assessment of the situation and out of its keenness to ensure the safety of the community, the Ministry of Education and Higher Education (MOEHE) in the State of Qatar, in its statement posted on its official Twitter account, has decided to take the following measures:

1- Continuation of the distance learning system and suspension of attendance for students in all public and private schools and kindergartens until January 27, 2022.
2- The continued attendance of the administrative and educational staff in public and private schools and kindergartens.
3- Conducting supplement tests for the first semester of government schools, starting from January 18 to January 27, 2022, according to the previously announced test schedules, as well as main exams in private schools according to their academic calendars in school buildings, while adhering to the precautionary measures established in this regard.
4- Adopting the physical attendance system for some classes and stages on an exceptional basis, at 50% of school’s capacity, taking into account the interest of students with a commitment to implementing all precautionary measures established in this regard, and these stages are:

– Secondary school students, grade 12 in public schools, and grade 11 and 12 in private schools.
– Students with special needs with disabilities, in public and private schools.
– Students of specialized schools.
– Attendance is optional for student and parents.

5- Physical attendance of children in nurseries at 50% capacity, provided that it is optional for parents.
6- Continuing 100% attendance of students in universities and higher education institutions.

MoEHE emphasizes its keenness and commitment to continuing the educational process as appropriate to all circumstances.
