The Ministry of Education and Higher Education announced today, in coordination with the Ministry of Public Health, that all students in all schools and nurseries need not wear masks if they choose not to. The decision was taken in light of the latest health indicators related to the COVID-19 pandemic, and will go into effect starting April 3. Wearing a mask starting that date is considered optional.

The ministry also said in a statement today that it decided to uphold its decision of having unvaccinated students who were never infected with COVID-19 to carry out a rapid antigen test at home on a weekly basis.

The ministry called on the students to continue their adherence to all other precautionary measures, to ensure their safety.
