State of Qatar
Represented by the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change (MOECC), the State of Qatar participated in a meeting of the Open-Ended Working Group (OEWG), to prepare for the work of the Intergovernmental Negotiating Committee (INC) to develop an international legally binding instrument on plastic pollution, including the marine environment.
In the three-day meeting, which was held in the city of Dakar, Senegal, the State of Qatar was represented by Director of the Environmental Operations Department Eng. Abdullah Jumaa Al Muraikhi, the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change stated.
The discussions between the States Parties resulted in drafting the procedural rules of OEWG, to be submitted to the first meeting of INC in November.
