The Primary Health Care Corporation (PHCC) has revealed its plans to open more healthcare centres to join its 28 centres–spread all across the country.

In its annual report issued on Sunday, PHCC explained that the new healthcare centers are expected to include Al Mashaf, Umm Al Seneem and Al Sadd, in addition to the current Al Khor Health Center, which will be replaced with a new one, noting that these changes will occur after the actual opening of Al Ruwais Health Center, followed by South Wakra Health Center.

PHCC will celebrate its 10-year-anniversary in February of 2022, after having achieved a qualitative leap in the field of providing health services through its health centers and in conjunction with the opening of new health facilities for primary health care.

Through its annual report, PHCC affirmed that the best way to improve the health of the population is to have comprehensive and high-quality primary health care services that focus on wellness, prevention and early detection, as the institution places great emphasis on developing safe, high-quality, person-centered health services in all of its health centers.

In April of 2019, the Corporation has launched its strategic plan 2019-2023, which included 6 strategic priorities, 20 goals and 80 strategic activities to be achieved over the five years. The plan aims to reach leadership in services that achieve the health and well-being of the community, as it focuses on providing more comprehensive and integrated services, and transforming the balance of health care into a model of proactive and enhanced preventive health services in the community.

The report highlighted the proactive efforts made by the Corporation to address the coronavirus pandemic, as it proved its effectiveness in protecting society and ensuring access to basic health care services in a safe environment, in addition to its cooperative efforts with the state to combat this epidemic.

PHCC’s report for the past two years (2020, 2021) included a number of achievements in various specializations of the Corporation, including the organization of the 4th International Primary Health Care Conference, and the Corporation obtaining Canadian International Accreditation for the third time, as well as many other accomplishments of winning awards, accreditations and certificates from prestigious international healthcare institutions.
